This seems to be a pretty common error. It happened to me when I switched hosts. The solution is pretty simple. Just replace your wp-includes/wp-db.php with the version found here. The article explains the problem in a little more detail. It doesn't make much sense since I know for a fact my database was perfectly fine. At least it worked fine in other applications. The fixed worked so what do I know...
